Pair of Large Pottery Lion Figures, Mogadore, OH origin, late 19th century, each in form of a reclining lion on oval base, composed of yellow clay and brown glaze to the head and base. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market pair, from an eighty-year private collection. One in excellent condition with a few in-the-firing surface lines to underside, not visible on exterior. Other with tight crack to rear end of lion, extending down to bottom edge of base, as well as a small chip to forehead, a minor nick to mane, and an in-the-firing contact mark to front at base. L (of each) 15 1/2".
