Scarce Lidded Redware Sugar Bowl with Bird Finial, attributed to Anthony Baecher, Adams County, PA, circa 1855, ovoid bowl with footed base, open loop handles and scored molding to shoulder, the surface covered in a reddish-brown lead-and-manganese glaze. Lid with a 7/8" chip to flange on underside of lid, a small rim chip, a typical chip to tip of bird's beak, and some old, light exfoliation to top of lid. A small, old catalog sticker on the jar and lid. H (excluding lid) 4 1/4"; H (including lid) 7 1/4".
