Unusual Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Cannning Jar with Floral Stencil, Western PA origin, circa 1875, tapered jar with wide mouth and inner wax sealer rim, decorated with an unusual floral stencil of a rose blossoming from a series of leafy stems. The wide form of this example is different than most Western PA canning jars. A series of short lines to base. Two drips of staining to reverse. A tiny nick to inner wax sealer rim. Traces of old green paint to interior. H 7 3/4".
