Shenandoah Valley Multi-Glazed Redware Spittoon, Strasburg, VA origin, circa 1890, with footed base and carved eliptical opening at shoulder, the surface decorated with splashed of green and brown over a streaky cream and orange ground. A 1 3/4" adhered piece of clay to shoulder. Chips are wear to opening at shoulder. Wear and shallow chips to base. Surface wear, including tiny flakes around shoulder and scratches to top surface. H 3 1/2" ; Diameter 7".
