Two Pieces of Northeastern U.S. Stoneware, second half 19th century, a four-gallon crock with brushed and slip-trailed cobalt tulip design, attributed to Union Pottery, Newark, NJ; paired with a three-gallon crock with abstract slip-trailed cobalt foliate design, stamped "RIEDINGER & CAIRE / POUGHKEEPSIE, NY". Unmarked Newark crock with some fry to slip-trailing, heavy exfoliation extending completely around base, also extending up to midsection on reverse, and a large sealed Y-shaped crack at base on reverse, continuing onto underside. Poughkeepsie crock with restored rim chips and a tiny stone ping under one handle.
