One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1875, ovoid pitcher with footed base, tooled collar, and rounded rim molding, decorated with five large groups of leaves brushed around the midsection. Collar and spout decorated with brushed cobalt swags. Impressed "1 1/2" within a circle on front. Some fry to cobalt. Minor, glazed-over 1 1/2" line on left side of spout. Thin 2 1/4" crack on underside, continuing 7" up side of pitcher. Black marker inscription on underside.
