Miniature Stoneware World's Fair Chamberpot, attributed to the Anna Pottery, Anna, IL, Dated 1893, wheel-thrown chamberpot with Albany-slip-glazed surface, featuring the incised inscription "A First Class Passage to the World's Fair 1893". Interior with applied clay and clear glass representing human waste. A good example of the bawdy and humorous nature characteristic of many Anna Pottery products. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, consigned from Pennsylvania. Several small chips to rim. Otherwise excellent condition. The applied clay on the interior of World's Fair chamberpots are often found damaged. However, the clay inside this example survives in excellent condition. H 1 5/8".
