Two Glazed Redware Jars, probably Connecticut origin, second quarter 19th century, an unusual, squat-shaped jar with tooled shoulder and flared rim, paired with a larger cylindrical jar, both decorated with manganese daubs over a reddish-orange ground. Smaller jar decoration with additonal manganese daubing on interior of rim, and includes a 19th century lead-glazed redware lid (not original to the jar), which does not fit perfectly. Larger jar with minor base nicks, light wear to surface, and some rim wear. Smaller jar with rim wear, otherwise excellent condition. Lid with chips and wear to finial and wear to edge. H (of smaller jar excluding lid) 5 1/4".
