Rare Small-Sized Stoneware Canning Jar with Stenciled Asterisk Decoration, Western PA origin, circa 1875, tapered jar with raised shoulder molding and rounded rim with wax sealer interior, the front featuring an unusual decoration of three stenciled asterisks with dotted centers. A very faint, minor 2" line on underside continuing 1 1/4" onto base. A small, shallow chip to bottom edge of rim. A shallow 3/4" chip on top of rim. Some small shallow chips to interior of rim and a shallow chip to inner wax sealer rim. H 6 5/8".
