Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Incised Floral Decoration, attributed to Joseph Remmey, South Amboy, NJ, circa 1820, finely-potted jar with ovoid body, tooled foot and shoulder, and ribbed lug handles. The front decorated with an incised and cobalt-highlighted flower or seed pod flanked by detailed leaves. Reverse decorated at the shoulder with a brushed leafy stem. Several base chips. Hairlines at base on reverse. A chip to exterior of rim. Small stone ping to shoulder. H 14 1/4".
