Flint Enamelware Spittoon, Stamped "Lyman Fenton & Co. / Fenton's / ENAMEL / PATENTED / 1849 / BENNINGTON, Vt.," circa 1849, molded spittoon with brown, yellow, and green coloration over a cream-colored ground. Impressed mark on underside, including the stamped letters "DD". Two faint hairlines from opening on top surface. Chips to oval opening at shoulder. Small chip to shoulder. X-shaped hairline in underside. H 4 1/4" ; Diameter 9 1/2".
