One-Gallon Ovoid Stoneware Jug, Stamped "S. PURDY," Ohio origin, mid 19th century, ovoid jug with semi-rounded spout and applied strap handle, decorated with cobalt slip brushed over the impressed mark of Solomon Purdy. Sealed spidering crack extending from base around left side of jug to shoulder. Additional 5 1/2" sealed crack from base. Minor chip on top of spout. H 11 1/4".
