Four-Gallon Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jar, Catawba Valley, NC origin, mid to late 19th century, finely-thrown, rotund jar with flattened rim, large tab handles, and incised wavy line around shoulder. Surface covered in a drippy greenish alkaline glaze. Shoulder additionally incised "4". Near mint condition with a few minor base chips. H 13 1/2".
