Open-Handled Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Decoration, Stamped "C. CROLIUS / MANUFACTURER / NEW-YORK," Clarkson Crolius, Jr., Manhattan, NY, circa 1830, large-sized ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and open loop handles, decorated with cobalt spots surrounding the maker's mark. Reverse with a cobalt drape and spot motif around the shoulder. Jar measures approximately four gallons. Excellent condition. Small base chips. Minor rim chips, which appear to be glazed over. A few stone pings in surface. H 13".
