One-Gallon Ovoid Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Decoration, Stamped "N. White / Utica," New York State origin, circa 1830, ovoid jug with rounded spout and applied strap handle, cobalt-decorated with a brushed number 1 underscored by a stylized flower or leaf. Glazed-over stone ping on front. Additional stone ping on right side. A few other minor stone pings. Two small flakes at base on reverse. H 11 5/8".
