Very Rare Stoneware Flowerpot with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to Wells & Richards, Reading, PA, circa 1845, tapered pot with stepped rim, tooled shoulder, and attached saucer, decorated around the shoulder with brushed cobalt leaf and flower design. Additional cobalt brushed around rim of saucer. Decorated stoneware flowerpots, particularly from the state of Pennsylvania are unusual. In-the-firing crazing to surface. Three hairlines from rim, measuring 5 1/4", 2 1/2", and 2 1/4". H 7 1/2".
