Rare Glazed Redware Bowl with Applied Floral Decoration, PA origin, mid to late 19th century, wheel-thrown bowl with tooled shoulder and rounded rim, decorated with four molded and applied flowering plant designs, connected by hand-modeled clay drapes. Surface and rim decorated with daubs of manganese over a mottled yellow and orange ground. Excellent color and unusual applied decoration. In-the-firing separations in applied decoration. Approximately 2 1/2" poorly restored chip to rim, as well as a 1 1/4" cx 3/4" poorly restored chip to foot. Minor wear to surface. H 6" ; Diameter 11 1/2".
