Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Large Cobalt Floral Spray, Stamped "E. & L.P. NORTON / BENNINGTON, VT.," circa 1870, cylindrical jug with sloped shoulder and semi-squared spout, decorated with a slip-trailed cobalt design of flowers surrounded by leaves, vines, and several dotted trails. Very faint crazing at base. In-the-firing, glazed-over base chip along with a much smaller base chip. A 1 3/4" hairline from spout and a second spidering hairline from spout, also measuring approximately 1 3/4". Some very faint lines at base, which probably occurred in the firing. H 13 5/8".
