Four-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Stenciled Cobalt Decoration, Stamped "F.H. COWDEN / HARRISBURG," circa 1880, large-sized, straight-sided jug decorated with an elaborate stenciled design within a diamond-shaped border. Horizontal lines in surface at base on right side of jug, which appear to be in-the-firing. Light staining to surface. Shallow rim chip. Small chip to underside. H 17".
