Extremely Rare V.M. BLACK & CO., Confluence, PA Stoneware Billhead, Dated 1898, paper billhead which reads "Bought of V.M. BLACK & CO., / DEALERS IN AND MANUFACTURERS OF / Stoneware, Fine Glazed Milk Pans, Lawn Vases, Parlor Vases, Drain Tile, DRAIN TILE, WATER PIPES, CHIMNEY TOPS, Etc." Interestingly, the top left corner of the billhead indicates that V.M. Black & Co. were also "DEALERS IN MAPLE SUGAR AND B.W. FLOUR." This billhead lists a large order, including "3800 1 Gal Dutch Pots," totaling the large cost of $239.31. To our knowledge, this potting firm is not documented in any stoneware books. Additional pencil writing on reverse. Small tear, minor losses, and light discoloration. Width 8 1/2" x Length 6 3/4".
