Rare One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Slip-Trailed Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "B.C. MILBURN / ALEXA," circa 1850, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied tab handles, decorated with an elaborate slip-trailed flowering plant design, bearing four blossoms, multiple leaves, and a central spotted bud. A cobalt wavy line design surrounds the jar below the rim. Reverse decorated with two different slip-trailed flowers extending from handle to handle. 1 3/4" sliver off of one handle. Small chip to end of opposite handle. Numerous small chips to base. H 10 1/4".
