Rare Manhattan Stoneware Flask, Stamped "C. CROLIUS, / MANUFACTURER, / NEW-YORK," circa 1830, wheel-thrown flask with flattened side and tooled spout highlighted in cobalt. Impressed at base with the maker's mark of Clarkson Crolius, Jr. A rare and desirable form, particularly when marked. Crack on underside, continuing 4 1/2" up front of flask. Small base nick. H 7".
