Rare Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Starface Decoration, Stamped "T. HARRINGTON / LYONS," NY State origin, circa 1860, straight-sided jar with rounded shoulder and applied lug handles, cobalt-decorated with a slip-trailed folk art face surrounded by eight slip-trailed rays. Additionally slip-trailed with a "2" on front. Maker's mark highlighted with cobalt trails. Desirable design and size. 6" vertical hairline from base under one handle. Shallow chip on interior of rim. H 11 1/2".
