One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "N. CLARK & CO / LYONS.N.Y*," circa 1830, highly ovoid jug with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded spout, brush-decorated with a flower bud emanating from a group of swags. Cobalt highlight to maker's mark. Spout is lopsided. A 5 1/2" inverted Y-shaped crack from spout on reverse. A hairline through base of handle. A 3/4" flake to underside at edge. Some staining to surface. H 11 1/4".
