Small-Sized Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Decoration, Northeastern U.S., possibly Manhattan, NY, circa 1800, ovoid form with tall, heavily-tooled spout, brush-decorated with a swath of cobalt across the shoulder and appealing runny highlights to the handle terminals. Exceptional size. Provenance: Robert and Nancy Treichler Collection, Tallmadge, OH. Excellent condition with a minor base chip and a few typical, minor in-the-firing flaws to surface. H 7 1/4".
