Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Stamped "C. CROLIUS / MANUFACTURER / NEW-YORK," Manhattan, NY origin, circa 1820, ovoid jug with heavily-tooled spout, brush-decorated with a spotted drape motif surrounding the maker's mark. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. A 3" diagonal line to shoulder of jug. A glazed-over dent to base with a 1 3/4" line extending through it. Typical in-the-firing flaws to surface including a number of iron deposits. H 13 3/4".
