Three-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Churn, Stenciled "L.B. DILLINER & CO. / NEW GENEVA / PA.," circa 1875, cylindrical churn with tooled shoulder and applied lug handles, featuring L.B. Dilliner maker's stenciling surrounding a stenciled rose. Freehand stripe decoration to shoulder and base. Stenciled "3" with stenciled flourishes at base. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Provenance: From a fifty-year West Virginia collection. A long Y-shaped crack from rim on front. Two long, thin cracks from rim on reverse. A firing crack to one handle. Chipping to rim. Staining to surface. H 15 5/8".
