Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jars, Philadelphia, PA origin, circa 1850, both of cylindrical form with squared rims, one with horizontally-brushed stem bearing fan-shaped flowers, attributed to Henry Harrison Remmey; the other with brushed double-stemmed floral motif on the front and reverse and cobalt wavy line around shoulder, the interior with unusual Bristol glaze, the underside with small incised "X." Taller with small rim chips, wear to cobalt, and crazing to base area. Shorter with vertical lines to rim/shoulder area (primarily surface level), glaze residue to rim, a 2" surface line near base, and two short lines at base. H (of shorter) 8".
