Two Molded Stoneware Root Beer Tankard Pitchers with Pewter Lids, attributed to the White's Pottery, Utica, NY, late 19th century, each of related cylindrical form with Bristol-slip-glazed surfaces, relief figural decoration on two sides, and bearded mask spouts; one impressed "ROOT BEER," the other impressed with the advertising for the root beer company, "BARDWELL'S," at base and "Freundschaft" at the shoulder. Cobalt highlights throughout. Shorter in excellent, essentially as-made condition. Taller with a small spout chip, a 1 3/4" flake to underside along bottom edge, and a hairline through handle. H (of taller, including lid) 14".
