Scarce Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1870, cylindrical jug with tooled shoulder and tapered spout, brush-decorated with various swag motifs throughout the body. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Desirable size and unusual Remmey form to find bearing decoration. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a slender in-the-firing ping to reverse below handle. H 9".
