Very Rare Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Cup and Saucer, probably Buncombe County, NC origin, late 19th century, ovoid cup with semi-rounded handle and original flare-rimmed saucer, the surface covered in a mottled brown alkaline glaze. Highly unusual forms. Both in excellent, essentially as-made condition. Both H (of cup) 3" ; Diam. 4 3/4".
