Two-Gallon Rust-Decorated Stoneware Jug with Impressed Hearts Motif, Stamped "CHARLESTOWN," Frederick Carpenter, Charlestown, MA, circa 1815, highly-ovoid jug with heavily-tooled shoulder, featuring dipped iron-oxide decoration to the upper and lower body. Shoulder impressed with two hearts. A small spout chip. Typical in-the-firing flaws to surface. A small base chip beside a glazed-over base chip. H 15 3/4".
