Fine Redware Bowl with Two-Color-Slip Floral Decoration, probably North Carolina origin, early 19th century, shallow bowl or dish with footed base and narrow, angled rim molding, the interior decorated in yellow and manganese slip with a flowering plant featuring a central tulip flanked by pyramidal blossoms, further embellished with dotted trails. Shoulder decorated with yellow and manganese slip banding. Rim with wavy manganese line. Underside incised "6". Excellent decoration and color. Some wear to slip, primarily to shoulder area. Some fairly minor, shallow rim chips, visible when bowl is turned over. H 1 3/4" ; Diameter 10 3/8".
