One-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "F.B. NORTON & CO / WORCESTER, MASS.," circa 1858-1877, cylindrical crock with applied lug handles and semi-rounded rim, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird perched on a stylized branch. Excellent condition with only minor flaws: a tiny nick to one handle; small chip and some miniscule nicks to interior of rim; a glazed-over 1 3/8" line to interior of rim; a minor in-the-firing ping at base on reverse; and some surface staining. H 7 3/4".
