Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to Howe & Clark, Athens, NY, circa 1805-1813, ovoid jug with footed base and heavily-tooled spout, decorated with stylized slip-trailed floral motif featuring a wavy, circular blossom. Brushed cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Provenance: Warren F. Hartmann Collection. Heavy chipping to base. A large, tight spider crack emanating from base on reverse. A large, tight spider crack to shoulder area on front. A small spout chip. Residue from use on reverse. H 14 1/2".
