Scarce Stoneware Harvest Jug with Baltimore, MD Advertising, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1875, beehive form with applied tubular pouring spout, button-shaped finial, and arched horizontal handle, impressed with the cobalt-highlighted advertising, "M. DUFFY / 164 CATHEDRAL ST. / BALTIMORE." Desirable form. Two small flakes to handle. An approximately 2 1/2" Y-shaped hairline to shoulder. Base chips. A salt drip to underside and base on reverse. A small in-the-firing lime ping at base on front. H 10 1/2".
