Rare Albany-Slip-Glazed Stoneware Jar with Elaborate Coggled Signature, Paul Cushman Pottery, Albany, NY, 1809, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and flared rim, featuring the elaborate coggled signature, "1809PAUL.CUSHMAN.S:STONE-WARE.FACTORY.1809 / HALF.A.MILE.WESTOFALBANY.GOAL.HALF." Surface covered in a brown Albany slip glaze. Provenance: Warren F. Hartmann Collection. Old stapled repairs to broken sections. Jar is out-of-round. A rim chip and minor rim nick. H 7 1/8".
