Rare Small-Sized Albany-Slip-Glazed Stoneware Jug with Coggled Signature, Paul Cushman, Albany, NY, 1809, ovoid jug with footed base and semi-squared spout, featuring the coggled signature, "PAUL.CUSHMAN.s : STONEWARE . FACTORY . 1809," the surface covered in a light, chocolate-brown Albany slip glaze. Exceptional size and desirable, elaborate maker's mark. The smallest example of signed Paul Cushman stoneware that we have ever offered. Provenance: Crocker Farm, Inc., October 26, 2019, lot 214; Warren F. Hartmann Collection. Some restoration to lip; otherwise essentially as-made condition. H 6 3/4".
