Very Rare Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar with Felicity, OH Advertising, Greensboro, PA origin, circa 1880, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, featuring the stenciled cobalt advertising, "H. FREDMAN, / GENERAL / MERCHANDISE, / FELICITY, OHIO." Freehand stripe decoration to upper body and base. Base with freehand "2" flanked by flourishes. Excellent condition with a 2" horizontal Y-shaped surface line to reverse, minor traces of paint and residue from use to surface, and a misshapen area to proper left side. H 11 1/2".
