Three-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "N. CLARK & CO / LYONS," NY State origin, circa 1839-1851, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a large slip-trailed design of a fan-shaped flower with details to the blossom petals and leaves. Slip-trailed twice with a script "3" at the shoulder. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. A poorly-filled 1 3/8" rim chip and a poorly-filled 3/4" rim chip. A faint 1" vertical line at base on side of crock, not visible on interior. A small rim chip on reverse. Some fry to cobalt. H 10 1/8".
