Two-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, Stamped "F.B. NORTON & CO. / WORCESTER, MASS.," circa 1870, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, brush-decorated with crossed leaves flanking tornado, including four spots and two scrolled-stem foliate motifs at the base of the design. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Excellent condition with a minor nick to interior of rim and a short, glazed-over line at base continuing a short distance onto underside. H 9".
