Outstanding Six-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Double Parrot Decoration, Stamped "F.B. NORTON & CO. / WORCESTER, MA," circa 1870, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a large slip-trailed design of two crested parrots perched atop leaves with spiraled motif below the birds' beaks and at the base of the design. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Excellent decoration, color, and size. A 2 1/2" chip to right side of rim on front. A small in-the-firing iron ping near midsection on front. Light staining throughout. H 13 3/8".
