Three-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "J. BURGER, JR. / ROCHESTER, N.Y.," circa 1885, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a flowering plant with detailed leaves flanking a triangular, scallop-edged blossom surrounding a script "3." Light cobalt accent to maker's mark. A 7/8" flake to interior of rim. A second small chip to interior of rim. Light splotches of staining throughout crock. H 10 1/8".
