Four-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "W.H. FARRAR / GEDDES.N.Y," circa 1860, ovoid jar with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a daisy plant bearing three spotted blossoms. Slip-trailed "4" above. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Very nice condition with the following minor flaws: some light bubbling to the cobalt, a few minor in-the-firing base chips, a few minuscule nicks to interior of rim, minor staining to exterior, and some exfoliation to the Albany slip on interior base. H 12 3/4".
