Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jars, Western PA and Baltimore, MD origins, third quarter 19th century, a six-gallon semi-ovoid jar with freehand flowering vine and stripe motifs applied over a slip-coated surface, Western PA origin; paired with a two-gallon ovoid jar with foliate motifs on front and reverse. Larger with areas of fry to cobalt and some light surface wear. Smaller with a restored 1 1/2" section to one handle, in otherwise excellent condition. H (of taller) 16 1/2".
