Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, WV origin, circa 1875-1880, a cylindrical jar with freehand stripes and number "2," attributed to the Colvin Pottery, Jane Lew, WV origin, circa 1880; paired with a semi-ovoid jar with stenciled decoration and freehand stripe, stenciled "RICHEY & HAMILTON. / PALATINE . / W VA." Jane Lew jar with in-the-firing contact marks to base, surface wear, and a few minor nicks to molding at shoulder. Palatine jar in excellent condition with some bubbling to salt glaze near base, some minor staining, and minor surface wear. H (of Palatine jar) 12 1/4".
