One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "SOLOMON BELL / STRASBURG / Va," circa 1850-1880, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-squared rim, brush-decorated on the front and reverse with a flower descending from opposing swags, applied over a slip-coated surface. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a minor in-the-firing surface chip near midsection. H 9 5/8".
