One-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to Adam Keister, Strasburg, VA, circa 1850, ovoid form with tapering collar and tooled rim, brush-decorated on the front with a horizontal stem bearing two open-centered tulips. Swag decoration flanking the spout. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Adam Keister raised-face one-gallon capacity mark to front. Significant restoration to cracks(?) in reverse and side of pitcher. Additional restoration to a crack extending from underside partway up front of pitcher. Minor nicks to rim and spout. H 10 3/4".
