Two Pieces of Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware, NC origin, circa 1875, a four-gallon double-handled jug with dark-olive alkaline glazed including rutile, paired with a four-gallon ovoid jar with streaky olive-brown alkaline glaze. Each incised "4" at shoulder. Jug in excellent condition with a small chip to spout and a small chip to one handle. Jar in excellent, essentially as-made condition. H (of jug) 16 1/4".
