One-Gallon Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jug, Edgefield District, SC, third quarter 19th century, ovoid jug with tooled spout, the surface covered in a mottled dark-0live to brown alkaline glaze. Two spout chips. A 1 1/4" surface line to edge of handle, a small handle chip, and a minor handle nick. An old metal object was placed inside of the jug and can be heard when the jug is shaken. Minor surface wear around midsection. H 10 3/4".
